Most Smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony, Philips, TCL and Hisense will play IPTV with no extra hardware — all you need is the right app and your login. The app depends on your TV's operating system:
| TV brand | Operating system | Recommended apps |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung | Tizen | IPTV Smarters Pro, SET IPTV, Smart IPTV |
| LG | webOS | IPTV Smarters Pro, SET IPTV, Smart IPTV |
| Sony, Philips, TCL, Hisense (Android / Google TV) | Android TV | TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro |
| Other / older TVs | Varies | Add a Firestick or Android box |
Before you start, have your Xtream Codes login (server, username, password) or M3U link to hand, and get the TV online — ideally on an ethernet cable.
Samsung and LG: IPTV Smarters Pro
Where it's in your TV's store, IPTV Smarters Pro is the easiest route because it signs in with Xtream Codes directly.
- Open Samsung Apps or the LG Content Store and search IPTV Smarters Pro.
- Install and open it, then pick Login with Xtream Codes API.
- Enter any name, then the username, password and server URL from your provider.
- Your Live TV, Movies and Series sections load in under a minute.
Samsung and LG: SET IPTV or Smart IPTV (playlist upload)
These load your playlist through their website using the TV's MAC address.
- Install SET IPTV or Smart IPTV from your TV's store and open it.
- Note the MAC address on screen.
- On your phone or computer, go to the app's official website, enter the MAC address and paste your M3U link (and EPG link if you have one).
- Restart the app on the TV — the channels appear on their own.
Both apps give a short free period and then charge a small one-off activation fee on their website.
Android TV and Google TV (Sony, Philips, TCL, Hisense)
Android TVs run the same apps as a Firestick, so use TiviMate for the best TV-style feel or IPTV Smarters Pro for a quick free setup.
- Open Google Play on the TV and install TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro.
- Choose Add playlist → Xtream Codes and enter your server, username and password.
- Load the EPG when prompted so the guide fills in.
Our Android TV guide has the detailed TiviMate settings.
Older TVs, or TVs without a good app
If your set is more than about six years old or its store has no reliable IPTV player, the simplest fix is a Firestick or Android TV box in a spare HDMI port. It costs less than a single month of a satellite package and opens up the best apps. See our Firestick app comparison.
Getting the best picture on a Smart TV
- Use ethernet over Wi-Fi — the biggest single improvement.
- Match the quality to your line: 4K channels want ~25 Mbps; drop to FHD if they stutter.
- Turn off motion smoothing in the picture settings for sport if it causes artefacts.
- Keep the app updated from your TV's store.
Troubleshooting
Channels won't load: check the login for typos, confirm the subscription is active, and restart the app. In Smart IPTV, hold the back button to force a playlist reload.
No TV guide: add the EPG link in the app's settings and give it a few minutes to download.
Picture freezes: go wired, restart the router, and lower the channel quality — our buffering guide covers every fix.
No app for your TV: use a Firestick or Android box instead.
